How Do I Cancel a Leave Request?
User are able to make changes to their leave requests depending on the status of their request.
Remove a Leave Request
When a leave request is in Pending status (Yellow on the Leave View), Users are able to remove the request from eSummit. This is completed by hovering over the appropriate leave request and right clicking to view the leave details menu.
Users without scheduler or Manager permissions will be able to either view the Details of the leave request or Remove the leave request. This will result in the Leave Request being removed, reducing the number of pending leave requests for the specific user.
Cancel a Leave Request
Once a leave request has been approved, Staff are not permitted to automatically remove their requests. Cancelled leaved requests are used as a method for Staff to communicate to Managers that they no longer wish to take a Leave/Vacation Day. Staff must submit a request to cancel Approved leave before approved leave can be removed. This is completed by hovering over the appropriate leave request and right clicking to view the leave details menu.
Cancelled leave requests remain logged until such time that the Manager either removes the leave request or denies the cancel request by re-approving the request.
Viewing Cancelled Leave Requests
There are three locations within eSummit where cancelled Leave Requests can be viewed.
1 - Leave View. Cancelled leave requests appear in magenta (purple). Managers can act on the cancelled request by right clicking over the request and either removing the request, or changing the request to a more appropriate status.
2 - Day View. Cancelled leave requests appear within the Vacation/Leave list on the Day View. A cancelled leave request will have a red X as an icon.
3 - Alerts View. Cancelled leave requests appear on the Alerts View when:
a) "Include Leave Alerts" is selected
b) the currently logged on User is as a Manager for the individual requesting the cancellation
c) The date that the cancelled request applies to falls within currently selected date range of the Alerts View.
Leave alerts will always appear in Red.
NOTE: The Alerts View defaults to show the next two(2) months worth of alerts. Adjust the from date or the to date and click the refresh button to create another list of Alerts. Right clicking on the specific row will allow you to view the leave details, where changes can be made to the status of the leave request or the leave request can be removed.
